Nutri-Grain Accessible Packaging

Adobe Illustrator and InDesign

2024

Collaborative project with Dana Keselman and Odelia Lim

This project was an extension of the Nutri-Grain Redesign completed with the same group and tasked to design a single accessible design kit which should feature all 3 of the redesigned SKUs for a person with disabilities (which can include physical, intellectual, mental, or sensory disabilities).

As we looked at children and families as the main audience for the initial redesign, we decided the audience to create accessible packaging for would best be suited for children with autism. The largest feature of the packaging is the idea of offering the choice of stimulation to the child. If they are under-stimulated they get to open the box and slide the inner box out, providing tactile feedback from the action and the feel of the handle. A second element added was the feature of a pop-out schedule on the inside of the package. Each fruit icon can be popped out when a child takes a bar allowing them to better anticipate when they are out of Nutri-Grain bars.
